As much as possible, keep your infant in the least restrictive space when awake. Minimize time spent in infant seats, swings, bouncers, etc. Spending time on a blanket on the floor gives your baby more freedom to move her arms, legs and body.
- blanket for tummy time on the floor
- infant toys
Step 1: When your infant is awake and alert, place her on a blanket on the floor. This will allow her to move freely with limited restriction.
Step 2: Provide infant toys for her to bat, touch, and mouth. Place some items slightly outside of your baby’s reach to encourage her to reach for objects.
